266 entrants used their entire allotment of 300 points. All but 10 used at least 290, with connor belthoff (t314) using the least at 277.
Young (0, t26) was the Most Popular pick, on 37 percent of 563 rosters, while Hatton (+9, MC) and Gotterup (-3, t10) were golfers who many entrants felt offered great value. Aberg (-5, t4) was also selected >150x. Still, we spent more points on Scheffler (-2, t14) than any golfer except Young.
Young and Hatton are the most common pairing, appearing on 74 rosters.
35 of 156 golfers went unselected, with Euro Ryder Captain Donald (+7, t70) being the SNUB at highest value at 30 points. Jaeger (-1, t18) is the SNUB burning us the most so far.
5 of 20 Club Pros found their way onto rosters, led by Block who was picked 6x but narrowly missed the cut. Kern is the only Club Pro to advance and he was picked by LongTom (t297), but predictably faltered on the weekend.
The 4 entrants at left have the Most Popular rosters, with the bottom 3 having identical squads. They all have the 4 top golfers: Young, Aberg, Gotterup, Hatton. All of their golfers were picked at least 55x. They've recovered to the middle of the pack after a shaky start.
The Least Popular roster belongs to mazsox (t145), with no golfers picked more than 56x and two picked <10x.

14 entrants (above) have All-American rosters - only BlakeHolland2 (t17) is on the Leaderboard, while none of the others are Top 100 . BHogan, McBurger and The Quiet Man have no Americans - none are in the Top 300.
England once again leads foreign choices, even moreso than usual this time, with 132 entrants with multiple Englishmen, including 21 with a trio and Wicked Green (third to last) with a foursome. No other country had more than a pair: Australia (9), Korea (4), Canada (3), Denmark (2), Norway (2), South Africa (2), Spain (1).
The 13 entrants at left spread things out with golfers from 6 different countries. Only Keegan Thunder ended up on the Leaderboard with three others Top 60.

FINAL
NOrr had to settle for 2nd place despite entering the day with a 9-stroke lead. He rises to t22 in the Cup. He is a second generation entrant coming to us from the sizable Cleveland Contingent. He's a first assistant pro at Sharon CC south of CLE who I'm told "loves to wager, especially on golf and craps," so a crapshoot like the GSC should be right up his alley.

MCs followed a sensible pattern with not many in Column One and more than half of Column 6 sent home. In all, we lost 32 percent of our selections.
45 of 563 entrants advanced their entire squad, including the Top 11 and 21 of the 40 on the Leaderboard. Scharfs Horseman did sneak onto the Leaderboard with a second MC.
171 entrants (30 percent) lost at least half their roster, with Eli Nutini, PASSIOS2 and RoShamBo (DFL) advancing just one golfer each.
Hudson Hybrids (t160) had the Least Balanced roster, spending 270 in the first 3 columns and ending with a Club Pro. GJV Jr. (t345) had the Most Balanced with just 4 points separating his Column One golfer (Fowler at 52) and his Column Six golfer (Lowry at 48).

Palmetto Springs to the Top
Started day tied for 18th
Third-year entrant Palmetto enjoyed a surprising treat at the end of exciting week. He played Arcadia Bluffs on the shores of Lake Michigan midweek, with limited time to make his picks late Wednesday night. This weekend was his daughter's high school Graduation. When he saw his 18th place standing Sunday morning he was hoping some nice early scores could net him a Top 10, but by the time the party was over and he started watching Sunday afternoon, Rai was going off and he could hardly believe a Major was in sight. In fact, when Rai hit his bomb putt on 17 Palmetto incredibly went up by 5, then had to sweat it out when Smalley eagled 16.
Palmetto showed signs last year when he finished 3rd in the British, which was won by decorated Mass Amateur golfer BirdieManAndy, who brougt him into the GSC.
Palmetto rose to 54th in the GSC Cup race after a slow start with a t407 last month. Masters co-winners BLaValle (t187, 5th Overall) and Hayden Golf Pros (t257, t12) stayed near the top.
With value picks at the top of the Leaderboard, the "Best Possible" team was simply the top 6 finishers.
Half os us would have been better off spending barely 100 points on a team full of SNUBS.

Palmetto was solid from the start, but lurked further down the Leaderboard until he closed with Sunday's best score. Rai's final 10 holes were obviously the main reason, but he also got a matching 65 from Fitzpatrick M earlier in the day. Hisatune gave him a 68 from Column 6 and everyone else was -1 or Even.
